Part-Time Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (APN) to join our Wentzville Urgent Care team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients in an urgent care or clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, evaluate, diagnose, and provide initial treatment to all patients presenting to the Urgent Care or clinic.
- Document patient histories with a focus on the chief complaint and acute problems, including a brief medical history of other significant conditions.
- Perform systematic and problem-focused physical examinations as clinically indicated.
- Initiate appropriate laboratory testing and radiologic evaluations based on patient history and examination findings.
- Treat and manage self-limiting and acute illnesses.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patient encounters.
- Educate patients on physical and mental health topics, disease processes, treatment plans, and dietary considerations.
- Refer patients to appropriate community health facilities, agencies, and support resources as needed.
- Perform clinical procedures, including:
- Laceration repair
- Foreign body removal
- Fracture management
- Wound debridement
- Incision and drainage
Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing or equivalent for licensing.
Experience:
- One year of nursing experience as a nurse practitioner or two years as a registered nurse in an adult acute care setting.
License and/or Certifications Required:
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration (Within 6 Months) or Registered Nurse (RN) Issued by Compact State (Within 6 Months)
- At least one of the following certifications:
- ACNPC (AACN)
- ACNPG-AG (AACN)
- AGACNP-BC (ANCC)
- AG-PCNP (AANP)
- ANP-BC (ANCC)
- FNP-C (AANP)
- ENP-BC (ANCC)
- ENP (AANP)
- FNP-BC (ANCC)
- ANP-C (AANPCB)
