About Helm Pediatrics

Helm Pediatrics is on a mission to make specialty care work for every child and every family. Millions of children live with chronic and episodic illnesses that need consistent, ongoing care, and almost no one is serving them. We believe expert care should be available to every child, without the wait.

We are building a virtual pediatric medical group serving children with chronic and episodic illnesses. Helm Pediatrics offers telehealth visits with clinicians, 24/7 support extending into daily life, and longitudinal care for children and the families who care for them.

About the Role

As a Nurse Practitioner at Helm Pediatrics, you will deliver high-quality, virtual-first care to children with chronic and episodic conditions. You will work in collaboration with physician leaders as part of a multidisciplinary team. We’re looking for a Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about our mission, delivering high-quality care to children, and supporting families who care for them.

Our technology-enabled care model is purpose built to enable providers to spend their time where it matters most: connecting with children and their parents, and tailoring care plans to each patient’s specific needs.

This role is a great fit if you are passionate about delivering high-quality, evidence-based pediatric medicine, are willing to go above and beyond to serve as a true partner to parents, and are excited to join a team where your feedback is heard.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver virtual-first care for children with chronic and episodic conditions in alignment with Helm Pediatrics’ evidence-based care model, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning through video visits.
  • Collaborate with a supervising physician and multidisciplinary team to implement coordinated, comprehensive care plans.
  • Align care to clinical protocols, including Helm Pediatric’s clinical pathways and nationally recognized pediatric guidelines to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care is delivered to every patient.
  • Educate and partner with parents and caregivers, delivering clear written care plans and next steps families can act on.
  • Document patient interactions accurately and promptly within the EHR, maintaining complete and compliant records.
  • Participate in quality improvement, case review, and clinical program development, to stay current in the field of pediatric care.
  • Maintain good standing with all licenses, certifications, and credentialing requirements, including completing credentialing steps promptly during onboarding.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Board certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner with significant pediatric clinical experience.
  • Active, unrestricted RN and APRN license at time of hire in South Carolina (or North Carolina).
  • Physician Assistants with active NCCPA certification and an active South Carolina (or North Carolina) PA license are also encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum of 3 years of pediatric clinical experience delivering patient care in settings including primary care, specialty care (e.g. asthma, allergy, gastroenterology, endocrinology, neurology), hospital medicine, emergency medicine, and more. Pediatric experience is required.
  • Excellent, patient-centric communication with parents and caregivers, with warmth, clarity, empathy and patience.
  • Comfort with telehealth and a virtual-first practice. Experience with common administrative and clinical technologies such as Zoom, Google Suite, and similar tools.
