The Paul and Marcia Wythes Center on Contemporary China (CCC) at Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies (PIIRS) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate is an outstanding recent PhD who focuses on contemporary China from a social science disciplinary perspective. The appointment will be made for one year with the possibility of renewal for a second year based on performance and availability of funding. Preferred start date September 1, 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to be in residence and participate in all of the Center's activities, including student-faculty seminars, workshops, and public lectures. The associate will have opportunities to collaborate with the Center's faculty. Expected Salary Range: 65,000-80,000
The University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, work experience, education/training, key skills, market, collective bargaining agreements as applicable, and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The posted salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate for a full-time position; salaries for part-time positions are pro-rated accordingly.
