Togus VA Medical Center in Augusta, Maine, offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient mental health services for veterans. It operates as a teaching hospital with a 10-bed locked inpatient unit, a PTSD program, and an Addiction Services program, including a specialized 12-bed inpatient unit for substance use disorder treatment. In addition to the Togus VA Medical Center there are 5 community-based outpatient clinics (CBOC’s) within the VA Maine health care system, and the current open psychiatrist position is located at the Portland CBOC.
We seek a Full-time Outpatient Psychiatrist at the Portland VA CBOC, Portland, ME, with on-call duties during evening, weekend, and holiday hours. These duties can be performed from home and include reviewing referrals for admission to the inpatient psychiatric unit at Togus and providing psychiatric consultation to the Togus Emergency Department. On-call duties are rotated, with members being able to easily trade hours.
