Description

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is seeking outstanding applicants to fill an Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) full-time position at the Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles, CA.

The APP will work in close collaboration with the radiation oncologists, nurses, radiation therapists, patient schedule coordinators, and other team members to deliver top quality-patient centered care for our adult patient population. The Advanced Practice Provider will work with physicians to evaluate and manage new patients, those undergoing treatment, and in follow up after completion of treatment. Duties include but are not limited to responding to patient calls, coordination of care, and providing appropriate documentation including H&P’s, new patient consult notes, follow-up notes, and treatment summaries. The APP will also be expected to meet all medical center requirements for practice and credentialing. The APP should demonstrate a knowledge of regulatory requirements in the delivery of patient care and demonstrate critical thinking in providing care according to the standards of the profession.

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the NCI-designated Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center provides advanced, state of the art care for cancer patients throughout the Southern California region including stereotactic radiosurgery, stereotactic body radiotherapy, HDR and LDR brachytherapy, total body irradiation, image guided radiotherapy etc. The field of radiation oncology is conducive to a good work/life balance with regular clinic hours Monday-Friday with weekends and major holidays off. The patients are always grateful for the care that they receive, and the APPs end up establishing long-term relationships with many of them for years through routine follow up.

This is a Full-time position supporting 2 attending radiation oncologists in clinic (not overlapping clinic days). The APP is also expected to assist in evaluation and management of inpatient consult patients as feasible. While the attendings have sub-specialization in disease sites, a willingness to seek knowledge in a wide range of malignant and benign diseases treated with radiation therapy is required to best serve the patient population being taken care of in the department.

We offer a highly competitive salary package with excellent benefits. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position will be hired as a clinical instructor.

The University of Southern California strongly values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity in employment. Women and men, and members of all racial and ethnic groups, people with disabilities, and veterans are encouraged to apply.
