Epidemiologist – Cal/OSHA Research and Standards Health Unit

Join Cal/OSHA and use your skills to study and advise the Division on the distribution and determinants of worker illness in California.  Cal/OSHA is seeking an Epidemiologist (Research Scientist V) to join our team in the Research and Standards Unit. 

The incumbent will perform timely evaluations of unaddressed extreme heat conditions as well as chemicals that have little or no toxicology testing in laboratory animals; serve as a subject-matter expert in biostatistics who makes independent decisions on the analysis of large, complex datasets that include data from new approach methods (NAMs, e.g., computational modeling, in-vitro tests, assays in alternative animal species) to predict human risks; and apply new computational-toxicology approaches to develop hazard and dose-response assessments.
