- Assistant or Associate Professor, B Cell Immunology
Description
The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor to establish an independent and collaborative research program focused on basic B cell immunology and B cell-mediated prevention and control of infectious diseases. The successful candidate will have recognized experience in the conduct of innovative research and a strong desire to accelerate discoveries that can transform approaches to prevention, treatment and cure of human infectious diseases of public health importance such as HIV, respiratory infections, and others.
Candidates will have a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD, and would preferably have a lab-based research program but those with hybrid computational programs would also be welcomed. Primary appointment will be in the Fred Hutch Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division (VIDD).
VIDD faculty conduct translational human immunology research including clinical trials relating to HIV, TB, respiratory viruses, and herpes viruses. VIDD provides opportunities for human immunology discovery research related to known and emerging pathogens.
Faculty are expected to perform their primary activities on-site at Fred Hutch.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a PhD or MD (MD/PhD welcomed), or foreign equivalent. A track record of innovative, mechanistic research in B cell immunology pertaining to infectious diseases is preferred.

The annual base salary range for PhD researchers in this position is from $188,279 to $210,563 for faculty hired at the Assistant Professor rank and from $210,413 to $245,241 for faculty hired at the Associate Professor rank.
The annual base salary range for MD physician-scientists with an active practice is highly correlated with the area of specialty and ranges from $233,665 to $501,638 for faculty hired at the Assistant Professor rank and from $266,745 to $560,043 for faculty hired at the Associate Professor rank.
Pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Pay for Faculty positions is based on a variety of factors, including degree, specialty, clinical practice and experience. Faculty without credited time in rank will generally start at the entry rate for their relevant specialty and rank. This position is eligible for relocation assistance and sign-on bonus.
