The Department of Chemistry at Columbia University invites applications for an Associate Research Scientist with expertise in biophysical chemistry, ideally in both experimental cell biology and biophysical simulations.

The position will begin as early as September 15, 2026, with the possibility of renewal, subject to work eligibility and the usual standards for satisfactory performance and the availability of funding. 

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Requirements

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field. 

Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Chemistry or related fields, plus a minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience. 

Preferred Qualifications: Extensive experience in cell culture, advanced imaging, image analysis, and biological simulation.
