Louisiana Emergency Medicine locums centered on PRN nights and swings at a Level 3 trauma center, with a psych team supporting higher psych volume so you can focus on core EM care.

Practice Setting

• Emergency department seeing all ages
• Mix of inpatient and outpatient encounters through the ED
• Approximately 140 patients per 24 hours through the department
• 24 hour coverage model with overlap from additional physicians and APP support

Schedule

• PRN coverage, up to 5 shifts per month
• 12 hour weekday shifts and 10 hour weekend shifts
• Consecutive shifts can be arranged for traveling physicians
• No call requirement

Cases and Procedures

• Full scope emergency medicine procedures including lines, airways, and chest tubes
• Trauma volume consistent with a regional Level 3 trauma center
• On nights, you may read your own plain films during the 2a to 9a window

Requirements

• Must be an MD or DO
• ABEM board-certified in Emergency Medicine
• Louisiana medical license, will consider candidates with an active IMLC LOQ
• Comfort with Cerner charting
