Description
The Nurse Practitioner will provide high-quality care and oversee IV infusion therapy and injectable treatments for patients with chronic illnesses, acute conditions, and wellness needs. You will perform comprehensive assessments, deliver infusions per protocol, monitor patients during and after treatment, and ensure clear, timely documentation in the EHR.
This role is ideal for an NP who enjoys both clinical autonomy and team collaboration, and who wants to make a meaningful impact in an outpatient setting.
Requirements
- Excellent IV skills and IV experience is mandatory
- Perform IV insertion and administration of IV/injectable therapies per standing orders
- Conduct intake assessments: vital signs, medication reconciliation, and medical history
- Prepare patients for infusion or injection, ensuring safety and comfort
- Deliver biologic and non-biologic infusions in accordance with organizational protocols
- Monitor patients during treatment, including recognizing and responding to infusion reactions or adverse events
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment expectations, and medication side effects
- Provide post-infusion instructions and follow-up care planning
- Document patient encounters using EHR systems (including SOAP notes)
- Create, evaluate, and modify treatment plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records
- Support audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance-related initiatives
- Coordinate with front office, RN, and marketing teams
- Engage with referring/prescribing providers
- Assist in supply management and maintaining a safe environment
- Contribute to annual reviews and skill assessments
