We're seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our GI Medical Oncology team in Irvine, CA. This role reports to an Advanced Practice Provider leader and works in close collaboration with our GI medical oncologists. In this role, you'll care for patients with gastrointestinal cancers, including colorectal, pancreatic, gastric, esophageal, and hepatobiliary malignancies, as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing GI cancer care through clinical trials and cuttingedge treatment. Oncology experience, especially in GI oncology, is preferred, but we welcome applicants with other relevant clinical backgrounds. What you'll do 

• Provide independent, direct medical management for patients with GI malignancies under standardized procedures, in collaboration with a supervising GI medical oncologist. 
• Perform physical examinations and assess, diagnose, and manage the medical needs of GI oncology patients, including treatment-related toxicities and disease-related symptoms. 
• Support patients through systemic therapy, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy, monitoring response, and managing side effects. 
• Participate in the care of patients enrolled in clinical trials, working alongside research teams to deliver cutting-edge and investigational treatments. 
• Practice at the top of your NP licensure, providing the full scope of advanced practice care to GI oncology patients. 
• Develop and follow NP protocols and standardized procedures specific to the GI Medical Oncology program. 
• Help design systems and workflows that support GI oncology care delivery and department operations. 
• Maintain clear, ongoing communication with GI medical oncologists and the multidisciplinary team, including surgical oncology, radiation oncology, gastroenterology, nutrition, and supportive care.
• Develop and deliver education and counseling for patients and families on GI cancer diagnoses, treatment plans, and symptom management. 
• Lead and participate in performance improvement initiatives that evaluate how well the GI oncology program meets patient and department needs. 
• Pursue ongoing professional development in GI oncology through educational programs, current literature, tumor boards, in-services, and workshops. 

Qualifications 

• Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Minimum of three years of clinical experience; GI oncology or medical oncology experience preferred 

Required licensure and certification 

• Current California RN license 
• California NP certification 
• California NP Furnishing number (within 6 months of hire) 
• DEA registration (within 6 months of hire) 
• National NP board certification from an accredited certifying body 
• BLS/CPR (American Heart Association) 
• ACLS and PALS
