Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200 -000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
Duties

- The Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed practitioner who has demonstrated a high level of proficiency in patient assessment including performing physical diagnosis - developing a comprehensive treatment plan - prescribing medications - evaluating laboratory data - and assessing patients' and families' psychosocial functioning
- The PA functions as the HBPC provider for his/her HBPC patients and coordinates their care among all members of the health care team - including other HBPC staff - outpatient primary and specialty physicians - inpatient services - ancillary hospital services - and community organizations
- The PA also promotes preventative health care and facilitates patient and staff education
- The Physician Assistant - in collaboration with the Medical Directors and Program Managers of assigned services - is responsible for the quality of care provided by the HBPC program - for the productivity of the team and for the development and implementation of programs and initiatives to meet the facility's mission
- The PA will function clinically as an independent health care provider working in conjunction with an attending physician(s)
- Work Schedule: Full-Time - 8:00am-4:30pm - Monday-Friday Telework: Authorized Virtual: This is not a virtual position
