Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200 -000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. • The selected physician will provide specialized evaluation and treatment for Veterans with treatment-resistant and complex psychiatric disorders using advanced interventional psychiatry and neuromodulation therapies
• The position is primarily assigned to the Somatic Treatments Program and serves as a key clinical resource for innovative psychiatric care
• Major duties include: Conduct psychiatric consultations - comprehensive diagnostic evaluations - follow-up visits - and crisis assessments
• Evaluate Veterans for appropriateness of interventional psychiatric treatments
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based somatic therapies
• Provide clinical oversight and treatment within the following modalities: Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) Esketamine Therapy Intravenous (IV) Ketamine Therapy Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize treatment outcomes and continuity of care
• Provide education and consultation to patients - families - and clinical staff
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives - peer review activities - and program development
• Contribute to resident and trainee education - research activities - and other academic endeavors as appropriate
• Work Schedule: Monday through Friday - 08:00am - 04:30pm
