Full-Scope Practice | Leadership Opportunity | Coastal California
An expanding Pulmonary/Critical Care program in Santa Cruz, California is adding another physician to its team. This full-scope role combines outpatient pulmonary, ICU coverage, and inpatient consults within a collaborative hospital-based practice. With additional APP support on the way and opportunities for leadership and program development, this is an ideal time to help shape the future of Pulmonary/Critical Care while living in one of California’s most sought-after coastal communities.
Practice Highlights
- Join an established team of 5 Pulmonary/Critical Care physicians
- Full-scope practice including outpatient pulmonary medicine, ICU coverage, and inpatient pulmonary consults
- Hospital is actively recruiting 2 Advanced Practice Providers to expand clinical support
- Opportunity to participate in program development, with a leadership role available for the right candidate
- Flexible scheduling model with opportunities to pick up additional shifts for increased earnings
Schedule
- Rotating schedule that includes:
- Outpatient Pulmonary Clinic (6:00 AM–6:00 PM)
- ICU Coverage (6:00 PM–6:00 AM)
- Inpatient Pulmonary/Ward Coverage (6:00 AM–6:00 PM)
- Physicians rotate through all clinical settings to maintain a diverse practice
- Night coverage shared with APP support as the program continues to grow
- Flexible scheduling model designed to balance patient care across the service line
Compensation & Benefits
- $450,000 base salary
- Additional productivity incentives for outpatient and inpatient pulmonary services
- ICU coverage compensated separately from RVU production
- Opportunity to earn $500,000-$525,000+ through productivity and additional shifts
- Comprehensive benefits package including health, retirement, malpractice coverage, paid time off, CME, and relocation assistance
Candidate Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine
- Comfortable practicing across outpatient pulmonary, inpatient consults, and critical care
- Interest in leadership or program development welcomed but not required
- Open to experienced physicians and graduating fellows
