Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/15/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel MedSurg / Infectious Disease RN | Travel Contract Unit Details • Unit: 1E – MedSurg / Infectious Disease • 18 Private Rooms • All rooms are private due to Infectious Disease patient population ✅ Required Experience ✔ Travel Experience REQUIRED ✔ EPIC Experience REQUIRED ✔ Strong MedSurg background ✔ Isolation & Infectious Disease experience strongly preferred Required Certification • BLS only Patient Population • Infectious Disease patients • COVID • MRSA • C-Diff • Isolation patients • General MedSurg with infectious precautions ‍⚕️ Patient Ratios • Standard Ratio: 1:5-6 • COVID assignments: 1:4 • Typically staffed with 3–4 RNs per shift Drips & Skills • No titratable cardiac drips required • Common meds/drips: ✔ Heparin ✔ IV antibiotics ✔ Standard MedSurg IV medications Support Staff • Charge Nurse available 24/7 • Day charge may take patients if needed • Night charge carries full assignment • 2 CNAs per shift Equipment & Monitoring • No ventilators on unit • May care for: ✔ CPAP ✔ BiPAP ✔ High Flow Oxygen patients (managed by Respiratory Therapy) Telemetry • Remote Tele monitored from 3rd floor • RNs do NOT interpret telemetry strips ⏰ Shift Schedule • 12 Hour Shifts: • Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM • Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM • 30-minute lunch break included Scheduling Expectations • Every Other Weekend Required • Nights: Fri/Sat/Sun • Days: Sat/Sun • Travelers scheduled based on unit needs • Block scheduling may be allowed if unit needs permit Holiday Expectations • Travelers may be required to work holidays depending on staffing needs Call / Low Census • Travelers may be called off for low census depending on contract terms Floating Requirements ⚠️ Travelers are first to float • Float required to all MedSurg units • If floated to Tele, assignments remain within skillset Dress Code • Royal Blue Scrubs REQUIRED • If wearing a jacket: ✔ Must be royal blue scrub jacket ❌ No hoodies or sweatshirts allowed Orientation • Day 1: EPIC Orientation • Day 2: Unit Orientation with Preceptor • Day 3: Independent assignment About Malone Healthcare - Nursing With a commitment to providing a higher standard of service and experience in patient care, Malone Healthcare places expert nurses and allied health professionals in rewarding careers throughout the United States.
