Since opening as an after-hours emergency clinic in 1977, AERA has grown into a leading referral center serving patients throughout the region. In 2021, we opened our state-of-the-art 45,000-square-foot facility, designed to support collaboration, efficiency, and innovation in specialty veterinary care. You'll work alongside specialists in Anesthesia, Radiation Oncology, Surgery, and Emergency & Critical Care while benefiting from access to advanced technology including on-site MRI, CT, Varian Halcyon linear accelerator, C-Arm imaging, and other cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment capabilities.

• The anticipated starting base salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $220,000 to $280,000 per year.
In your day-to-day, you will:
• Manage complex internal medicine cases spanning gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, infectious disease, endocrine, hematologic, and respiratory conditions.
• Perform and interpret advanced diagnostic procedures including ultrasound, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, CT, and other specialty imaging modalities to guide patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Collaborate closely with Emergency & Critical Care, Surgery, Radiation Oncology, and other specialty teams to provide comprehensive management of complex and shared patients.
• Coordinate consultations, referrals, and patient transfers across specialty and emergency services to ensure seamless continuity of care.
• Utilize advanced hospital resources and technology, including MRI, CT, C-Arm imaging, and other diagnostic capabilities to support exceptional patient outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with referring veterinarians through collaborative case management, expert consultation, and proactive communication.
• Guide pet owners through complex medical conditions with empathy, transparency, and confidence, helping them make informed decisions regarding their pet's care.
• Mentor technicians, assistants, interns, and support staff as part of daily case management and a collaborative learning environment.
• Pursue opportunities to expand your expertise through advanced ultrasound proficiency, interventional radiology procedures, electrochemotherapy (ECT) training, and other developing areas of specialty medicine.
• Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, mentorship, teamwork, and continuous improvement that prioritizes both exceptional patient care and professional growth.
What You Bring
• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
• Board Certification in Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) or Residency Trained in Small Animal Internal Medicine.
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
• A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine.
